The House at Pooh Corner

Scott received this wonderful series from his Great Aunt Merry before he was even born. Lately, after bath time, we have been enjoying reading the stories out loud to Scott. He cannot be bothered to sit still and listen to books most days, so it doesn't matter if there are pictures to keep him interested or not. He runs around the room and mom and dad enjoy the captivating stories. I remember having these stories read to me as a child but I never realized how hilarious they are. I leave with this:
"Piglet looked up, and looked away again. And he felt so Foolish and Uncomfortable that he had almost decided to run away to the Sea and be a Sailor, when suddenly he saw something." The House at Pooh Corner, The Search for Small

Body parts and dog talk....

We practice colors and the alphabet and animals and numbers...etc etc etc. All day!!! Some of Scott's favorite things to practice are where his body parts are (really good at 'head', sometimes can get nose, chin, ears and mouth) and animal sounds - he always barks after Charlie barks. Sometimes he "barks" at Charlie before Charlie barks...I think he wants Charlie to bark back? Maybe?

Friends....

At the park with Zoey (mom has been singing "1234 monsters walking across the floor, I love counting, counting to the number 4" ever since...we watch the you tube video everyday)

Recently we visited Riley and Parker's house and had some fun with bubbles (and enjoyed great company)

Although Scott's face doesn't show it here, he loves hanging with Parker and sharing cars

Snacks with Parker J. today while mommy was at work

Lately...

So I had to write a few funny Scott things down before I forget to record them. Lately Scott has taken to climbing in a major way. Its really cute, but it is definitely giving me a run for my money. Today at my office he climbed on top of the robot toy (not made for climbing) and just perched himself there until I got him down. Last night while we were having some play time before bed in Scott's room he climbed on the ottoman of his glider and rocked himself back and forth...with a look of total joy on his face...HILARIOUS! And Mr. Smarty Pants also rolls his cozy coupe car in front of any piece of furniture that he can't quite climb on yet...enters through the door then climbs out the other window using the car as a ladder....I'm dying to capture this charade on video!
The other fun thing he has been up to is blowing bubbles in the bath tub. We have shown him how a few times and lately he is putting his face in the water without being prompted. He hasn't quite figured out the actual blowing bubbles part...he puts his face in, looks around, then comes up and tries to blow the bubbles. He will get the hang of it eventually!
I don't know if I have already written this down but he is also good at giving high fives and blowing kisses!
He is starting to expand his dietary selections beyond carbs (thank goodness) and is now loving chicken and eggs!
We are getting geared up for his birthday party that is just days away now. I can't believe he is almost one!!! Where has the time gone?!?!?!!!???

Lucky Ducks....

This weeks lunch meeting with Auntie Kel was extra fun because she found a park to go to where Scott got to feed the ducks! Bonus: a night or two before Scott learned how to say "duck" while we were talking about his rubber ducky in the bath....pronounced: "dug"!!! The only confusing part was why we kept handing him pieces of bread then making him throw it to the ducks...he kept trying to eat it! Poor guy - so confusing!

Feeding ducks is serious business...

"Du-ggs"

Mesmerized (+ food on face : / not a great cleaning up job after lunch mom!)
Loved running back and forth on the bridge...and it was perfect because he couldn't fall in so we just let him go!

Scott wanted to climb up on this bench the moment we got to the park (he can climb up on the couch and tables at home but couldn't quite get up on the bench himself despite numerous attempts). Finally Auntie Kelly helped him up...its what he had been waiting for all day!

You Handsome Devil, You!

There are no words....

Party hats...

Scott's "E-I-E-I-O" hat!!!

"Adios YA'LL!"

I shake my little tush on the cat walk...

Audition photo for Ru Paul's Drag Race (Scott is really going to hate me for this picture in about 10 years huh?)

Cool job Dad...

Big news for LA...and Brian's job! Super excited for LA to have an NFL team - I can't wait to be a fan (I currently could care less about professional football). The picture above is some of Brian's hard work behind the scenes creating everything for the press conference. How cool!?!

This is the picture I took watching the press conference with two screaming babies at Hilary and Matt's the morning of. Awesome! But Magic Johnson was speaking and Brian was there and I knew he was super stoked!!!
