2 years ago....

Brian & I tied the knot!

It was the most amazing day! I can't believe its been 2 years...sometimes it feels like we just got married sometimes it seems like we have been married for 20 (in a good way). Every day has been wonderful and I can't believe where life has taken us these past two years and how blessed we are to have each other and our incredible son!
Our anniversary celebration was our trip to Hawaii! Today Brian is at work, I took Scott to have some pictures taken and now I'm waiting for the arrowhead delivery guy....really romantic right?! Well Hawaii was awesome and romantic and tonight we will enjoy dinner together and time with each other and Scott! Fall weather has arrived (for now) so it will be wonderful to get all cozy! Its even overcast and rainy today...reminiscent of our actual wedding day! Oh yeah and yesterday I tackled crepes for an anniversary breakfast...they came out pretty well if I do say so myself!

Pumpkin Patch

Today was Scott's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch! Man do I ever love fall! I have been anticipating this outing for a long time and it did not disappoint! We met Auntie Al and Logan at a great farm with tons of pumpkins...unfortunately the train rides and corn maze don't open until next weekend, but that just means we will have to go again (and again!). Scott loved sitting in the wagon with Logan, I think he felt like such a big boy!

We didn't buy a pumpkin for Scott to carve yet...I don't think it would have lasted until Halloween, but we will go back for that (and more pictures of course). We did do some shopping at the farm though, we got lots of corn on the cob, strawberries, figs, garlic and some adorable little pumpkins for me to use as decoration on the table! Then it was off for some football watching and naps (Scott is still napping...miracle? I think so!). Maybe we will get some fall decorations up later!

Learning to walk...

So Scott is definitely eager to walk. He pulls himself to standing on pretty much anything he can find, whether it is sturdy or not, and lately he has tested to waters of taking steps from side to side while holding whatever object that got him to standing in the first place as little as possible! As he takes each step he will let go more and more until he gets a little too cocky, removes both hands and falls. I love to see the delight in his eyes as he maneuvers between positions and pieces of furniture, he is so proud of each step! I love that when he plops down on his tushy he is eager to hop right back up and continue his adventure where he left off! I tend to stay behind him to try to cushion each fall and I just hate it when he goes down a little too hard or smacks a body part, but I know that is part of the learning process as well. It strikes me that learning to walk is truly a metaphor for everything he will do in his life. He had to crawl first and now he is learning to take baby steps and trying to do all of this as independently as possible, while mom is in the background the whole time trying to cushion the fall and encourage him to proceed with caution. And isn't that the role of mothers in everything kids do, we can't be there to catch them for every fall (even though we want to be) so we just worry, advise and pray for every new challenge that will come their way. And if Scott is going to approach life the way he approaches learning to walk then watch out world because this kid is fearless!

Ergo Kudos

So I just have to rave for a minute about my favorite, most essential baby item: The Ergo Baby carrier! I have been using it since Scott was about a month or so old and we still love it and use it ALL THE TIME! We even took him on a pretty long hike in it and it was awesome for mommy/daddy and Scott! This is how I get all my shopping and errands accomplished and Scott is happy to go along! But what I really must rave about here the most is their customer service! Recently I broke the waist buckle....it was hanging down from the car and I slammed the door on it...my bad! I was devastated! I thought for sure I would have to buy another one (100$ plus) or wait 6 weeks to have it repaired or something (not an option as we literally use daily). I called the company on a Friday, spoke to the representative (no endless menu of pushing 1 for this and 2 for that and all that nonsense) and asked if I could buy a piece of if they did repairs, she said she would send me the piece I needed....get this: FOR FREE and I had it on Monday! Can you believe it? This kind of customer service is unheard of these days! I was so impressed and I could have hugged the woman on the phone! I even sent a thank you card to the company, they seriously made my day and saved me 100$$! They just earned themselves a customer for life!
