We've got ears....say cheers!!!

As an early celebration of Scott's first birthday we took him to Disneyland for the first time! It was a great day! We braved some rain and some cold weather but it was worth it to see Scott enjoying the magic kingdom! Above Daddy and Scott when we first arrived at the park!

Cinderella's castle (mommy more excited than Scott at this point)
Waiting in line for our first ride: Buzz Lightyear
Scott got his very own laser gun to shoot...AWESOME!!!!
Riding Buzz....probably was Scott's favorite ride of the day.
Not such a great picture from inside the ride but the bright spot is Buzz's face...Scott said "Bub, bub" when we saw him on the ride and waiting in line. Maybe saying "Buzz"??!!
Our next stop was getting Scott some Mickey ears....very important! Scott's favorite is the Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey...but those ears were too big for him so he had to settle with seeing them on Dad...He thought they were awesome!!!
Scott's very own ears!
Next stop Toon Town: home of Mickey Mouse!
Prison break Scott...

We got to Mickey's house and got to take a tour...Scott even got to sit in Mickey's chair!
We kept telling him we were at Mickey's house and asking him where he thought Mickey was...so he kept looking for him...so cute!
We finally made it through the line and we were next to meet Mickey...Scott was very patient while we waited our turn.
And then the mouse himself....M-I-C-K-E-Y! Scott was in LOVE!!! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen! He kept giving Mickey hugs and kisses!

Kiss for Mickey!

And look who we ran into after leaving Mickey's house...
Then we rode Small World...Scott was mesmerized by the clock in front.
All tuckered out, Scott napped while Mommy and Daddy walked around California Adventure
Up from a nap...the line for the toy story ride was an hour so we settled for playing life size action figures in the big toy box!

And we caught part of the Monsters Inc. show
Scott danced along with the music while the monsters sang and danced and marched right next to us. The orange monster even came up and danced right in front of Scott...mommy wasn't quick enough with the camera...still kicking myself!
Super cheers for Scott's Mickey ears!!!
When we arrived at Disneyland the sky was gray and threatening rain...we started to second guess our decision to come. But we had made the drive so we figured we had to at least try. So in we went. There is really something so magical about Disneyland (cheesy I know) but my heart even jumped when we walked through the gate and I saw the train and the castle and heard the wonderful music. I was so excited to be taking Scott to experience this iconic place!
It only rained for this first little bit then the sun came through (but it was still cloudy on and off and pretty freezing) and the rest of the day was great! Scott soaked it all and and really enjoyed the rides (except for Pirates of the Caribbean...maybe too dark and scary for a one year old...probably bad parenting on that one) and people watching and seeing his favorite characters! And meeting Mickey was definitely the highlight. Does anyone remember the Disneyland commercial from 10/15 years ago where the family took their little boy to Disney for the first time and he was so excited but the day was coming to a close and he started to seem sad (it was because he couldn't find Mickey) and then he sees him and runs up to him and whispers "I've been waiting my whole life to meet you!".....yeah it was like that! We made such great memories...it was really a magical day!!!
