Ok so I know its not technically summer yet but it sure feels it in our neck of the woods. School is over so we have officially let bed times go out the window - a sure sign of summer. We are enjoying some June gloom in the mornings which has been nice (and secretly I'm dreaming of fall when its over cast in the morning) and it hasn't been getting excruciatingly hot yet (nor do I think it will, this will be our first full summer here as last year we were in transition living at Mimi and Papa's house waiting for our house to be ready, but we will see what summer brings).
We have had lots of early morning bike rides, park time and play dates so far this summer. Lots of backyard time, late nights out and don't forget ice cream!!!!
Last week Brian worked late and I gave Scott the option of playing in the playroom or reading in his bedroom while I put Owen down. He opted to bring his pita and pillow in with us, I told him he couldn't talk and keep his brother awake and before I knew it I had two snoozing babes. Our goal is for them to share a room soon, just not this room. Oh well. I let Scott sleep here for half an hour before moving him to his room.
Mimi brought us some dot art painters and we have been using them nearly every day since. Scott worked on this boat picture for a good 15 minutes for Brian for father's day (i'm not ruining the surprise, Scott was so excited about it he gave it to Daddy as soon as he got home)
And Owen LOOOOOVES him some dot art. He was first introduced to it at preschool on one of my work days. This time around he combined his art work with screwing the lids back on them, which apparently is just as fun as painting with them.
Oh and eating raisins about half the time too...
One of our many playdates last week. Owen and Maddox having a tea party (then climbing on the table and jumping off and tipping the chairs...it was a boy tea party!)
No shortage of super heroes around these parts either....
Please note Scott is also wearing T-Rex gloves and holding a wrench...all part of his super powers
(sorry for the instagram redundancy)
Friday night we went to Mimi and Papa's house for a birthday party for Auntie. We got an almost great picture of all the boys on the swing - poor Ryder, he was happy the rest of the night though.
Scott (3), Owen (almost 15 months), Parker J (3), Ryder (16 months)
Thought I could get just my two guys on the swing when P and R got off. No. I got "you're lame mom" faces.
That night Owen also got his first ice cream cone.
He was pretty stoked....
This night we didn't leave Mimi and Papa's until after 9. Owen fell asleep on the way home but Scott did not. Both bedtimes out the window!
And we have been swimming a lot already this summer...
Again excuse the repeats if you follow me on instagram but this one is just too darn cute!
And do a lot of adventuring. If its not super heroes its pirates.
Scott stuffs the sword into his chonies for safe keeping. Hilarious!
Here's to lots more summer fun!!!
