Closing out the school year

The end of the school year is always such a rollercoaster.  While I am always SO ready for summer (the kids too!) I'm still so sad to see it end.  Especially this school year considering what the last school year had been like for Scott and how this year far surpassed all expectations.

First up, end of the year picnic for Owen's kindergarten class.

Owen doesn't love to have his picture taken and many pictures throughout the year were him covering his face or giving the stink it.  But this night he was his best self and I feel so lucky to have caught this perfect smile and picture with our favorite teacher in the land, Ms. Tori.

And then I even got a sneaky secret shot of him singing and dancing to "tooty-ta"

Just a typical school morning...with only days to go.

Last baseball games of the season...

Scott's team made it to the final game of the play off tournament and ended up coming in second.  Lots of emotions there, but ultimately a season for the books.

And there was probably only about 10 minutes of being bummed out because directly after it was awards time.  The trophy was for first place in the season, the medal for second in the tournament.  Not too shabby to leave the season with all that bling.

And if you have to lose the last game who better to lose to than one of your favorite friends, especially since their teamed clawed their way back from 6th in regular season.  Way to go Rockies and Dom!!!

Cubbies love!

Oh but baseball still wasn't over.  The next weekend brought us over the line tournament.  Basically 4 on 4 baseball....in costumes.

We cheered our trolls on in the heat - Owen even got to dress up with his buddies and when another team called them out the friends were quick to respond with "he's our mascot!" Love those boys!

Baseball forever!

Last week of school and our beach field trip with kinder and these cutest friends!

End of the year party for the Emeralds

And bridging ceremony at school.

What a year for Scott.  It was hard when we first talked about doing first grade again, but there was never one day when we thought it was a mistake.  He has truly soared this year and become a leader at school.  We couldn't be prouder.  And we couldn't be more thankful for the loving guidance he (and all of us really) received from Ms. Marsi.

Last day of school feels - love mob for Ms. Tori!

And these two snuggled their favorite teacher the entire closing circle in first grade.  My heart!

Ms. Tori and the campbell boys....but don't worry we aren't done with her yet (she's teaching 2nd grade next year and Scott is lucky enough to be in her class!)

Cubbies end of the year party

Best all around player....what a kid! Sports = love language
