Exersaucer...

Yesterday we bought Scott a new toy: the exersaucer! Today we played in it for the first time! Huge hit!!! Warning: I'm obsessed with my child and I've posted a TON of pictures of him playing...there are just too many cute expressions, I can't just choose one or two. If you think this is a lot keep in mind that this is only about 1/16th of the pictures I actually took of him playing! Told you: OBSESSED!

Note the towel: Scott is still a little small for it and doesn't always have the most control over his body so the towel was useful in preventing face plants!

Parker has now mastered the big boy seat!

The boys both received new boats for the bath tub from our friends Ron & Susan. We opened the package and gave the boats to the boys...Parker observed...Scott tasted! And an extra bonus is the boats are made from recycled plastic - our boys are already learning to be green!

This pictures was taken when Hilary turned on the mobile above them. I love how intensely Parker looks at things! Scott was just happy about the whole situation - especially because he was close enough to Parker that he could reach over and touch him, so affectionate!

My Sister: My Hero!!!

Recently Hilary was very sick and had to be hospitalized. Parker was only about three and half weeks old at the time and she had to be away from him for six nights (this included his 1 month birthday). It was absolutely horrible and, from everything I could tell, excruciatingly painful, but through it all she never cried or complained - she was only upset when she feared for Parker's well being and when one (idiot) doctor said she would have to stop breast feeding (not the case, hence: IDIOT doctor). Her soon-to-be-husband was such an amazing support for her and father to Parker through it all, I always knew I liked Matt but watching him in action solidified the fact that I'm excited to get to have him as my new brother! Welcome to the family 'bulldog' (Robin called a bulldog when we were talking about how supportive he would be during Hilary's L&D). Hilary is doing much better now, yesterday she came over with Parker and the boys played for a few hours (and the mom's shopped while the boys had a nap...YAY!). I love that we get to be mommies together - starting at basically the exact same time! My sis has turned into an amazing woman and mom - and for this (and other reasons) she is my hero!

I truly think Scott has to know Robin's voice. While I was pregnant Scott and I spent at least 2 days a week in her yoga class, sometimes we went 3 or 4 times a week, plus on Sundays she taught our child birth class. All the babies, Scott included, were so happy to be held by Robin. I think they pick up on her kind spirit and recognize her as someone who helped support their mommy as she brought them into the world!

We had a great night visiting with all the other mommies and daddies and meeting their little ones! Scott was in a pretty good mood (shocking because normally 7:00 is exactly when he gets fussy) he had a few moments where he was not a happy camper (like right when we started taking some group pictures) but for the most part he was a happy boy....then he fell asleep! And the bonus of the night was that it was Hilary's birthday...so we also got to sing and have cupcakes! Happy 24th birthday Bananas!

Gatorade...

Dear God,
I would like to thank you for making gatorade, actually gatorade bottles, really all bottles...and cups too. These are one of the most fabulous big person things I have discovered in my 3 months, the other of course being wind charms. I just know you made bottles and cups for my enjoyment. I love how the plastic crinkles and how the lid feels on my gums. They are just the right size for me to hold all by myself (usually). I know that when I get older you want me to play with what is inside of bottles and cups too...especially the colored ones. I think the colored ones will be especially good for dumping and playing with. For now I will enjoy holding and pushing and kicking these bottles and listening to the liquid slosh around (what a GREAT noise, thank you also for sloshing) and I will be looking forward to being big enough to drink out of bottles and cups!

Lately...

Scott thinks Mommy is the funniest person on the planet (I wonder how long I will still be funny and not lame!)

Cousin Parker and Auntie came to my office for their adjustments, we also all had a picnic together in the back room...the boys were great eaters. Eating was followed promptly by Scott in a good mood (see above) and Parker falling fast asleep (below).

Scott cheered the Lakers to a game 1 victory against the Celtics (sorry granpy, gotta go with daddy on this one!)

Scott's Grandpa Don came for a visit this weekend and we all enjoyed the first heat wave of the summer...pool here we come!

The pool is still a little cold for Scott (don't get me wrong we still dunked the piggies in there) but we spend most of the day having fun on the blanket on the grass! We love summer!

Memorial Day Weekend...

Saturday Hilary and Parker came over for a visit. We had a great time hanging out. Above is a picture of Parker's first attempt at sitting in the 'big boy seat' as we call it...not so into it.

Then it was Scott's turn in the seat to show Parker how it was done. While Scott was sitting Hilary was holding Parker to calm him down...the look on Scott's face (below) was priceless. I swear he was thinking "what did you do to that baby?"

Sunday morning "nekkid" time before going to the beach. I also wanted to document Scott's need to taste EVERYTHING!

Sunday morning we headed to Manhattan Beach for some fun in the sun with our friends. Brian and I hardly knew what to do with ourselves while Scott took a 1+ hour nap on the beach when we first got there.

Sunday afternoon we headed to cousin Rick's house for a BBQ. Scott enjoyed hanging out with (almost) the whole family. He also had his first experience with swimming in the pool. There were tons of kids splashing and lots of people so it was very loud but he liked the water. I think next time when its a little less rambunctious he may be a little more adventurous with splashing around.

A three day weekend is such a treat! We are so thankful for the men and women who ensure our freedom!!!
