Farm Fresh TO ME!!!!

While at the Green City Fair this past weekend I signed up for an organic produce delivery service. I know a few people who do this and they really enjoy it so I figured why not try it, I can literally cancel after one box if I want. Plus my own little backyard organic garden adventure is going rather slowly, currently there is one bell pepper, I'm ridiculously tempted to pick it and gobble it up, but its got a bit more growing to do. So until I'm a full fledged gardener - Farm Fresh To You is farm fresh to me!

Box #1 arrived today: it definitely did not disappoint!

Strawberries, grapes, watermelon, carrots, peppers, corn tomatoes, radishes, lettuce and celery: for 25$ - deal of the century!

"Mom! I want to try this MOM! MOM!"

"oh no, tomatoes are NOT good."
So I can have a box of this size delivered weekly, every other week, once a month, twice a week...whatever I want. I can also change the box each week to be all fruit, all veggies, mostly fruit, etc. etc. this is the second smallest box, they have one smaller that feeds 1-2 people but we eat A LOT of produce so I bought for 3-4 (they also have larger boxes and even can do corporate boxes). I'm totally impressed with the quality and freshness (the guy who gave me the pitch told me they harvest and deliver within 48 hrs - that means two days ago (or less) my food was still attached to the ground - awesome!) the boxes change week to week so you never know exactly what's coming (and they are willing to customize based on allergies or dislikes) it was like Christmas morning when my box came! My service is 31$ per delivery (25$ for the first one because I signed up at the fair) which is not bad at all in my opinion. I spend so much on organic produce each week - I think this will be a savings in the long run. The farm also sent a little "newsletter" with fun info about the farm etc. but also included recipes for the items in my box this week - genius!
So if you are interested check them out here: www.farmfreshtoyou.com
If you use the code: 6164 they will give you the deal I got (5$ off first box)
And if you sign up please oh please use my name as a referral because I will get a free box (and I promise to share)

Packed and ready...

Got this picture emailed to me by my mom yesterday. Their house is packed. They move down at the end of July. Not a moment too soon...they have no more official phone line which is beyond annoying (if you don't know: my mom and I average talking on the phone once per day...many days more than that....maybe we average more like 1.5 - 2 times per day) they have cell phones but the whole canada - US thing really gets screwy and expensive. Now we can start the count down until they live in our neck of the woods (first time I will have lived in the same state at my parents since 2000!). Hurry hurry hurry...we can't wait!

Passed

Monday I found out that I officially PASSED my ICPA certification test. The one I had been working on for the last 3 months (see picture of my notes spread out EVERYWHERE, this is how Kelly and I lived while working on this thing)! Once I turn my research in (hopefully this week) I will have officially earned the initials C.A.C.C.P.! I love learning and I love when hard work pays off! Now to choose my continuing ed credits for my license and the ICPA...

Happy Birthday Dos

The birthday girl (a little early) with her fam! So cute!!!

The Campbells celebrating the big 2-5 for Hilary at Malibu Seafood, yum-o!

Birthday spaghetti for Parker J.

Birthday Chocolate Frosting for Scotty P.
We had a fun night celebrating Hilary's birthday. Her real birthday isn't until tuesday but I work late that night and things get crazy during the week so it was fun that we got to do an early b-day dinner. Malibu seafood is a favorite of all of ours, I know I've raved about it before, like every time we go. Grandma Kathy and Grandpa David came too and so did Hilary's good friend Vergine ("Version B"). Matt got Hilary a new cruiser bike for her birthday so they met us there after a bike ride at the beach. They got Parker a seat for the back and apparently he had a blast...although no one took pictures...tsk tsk! I'm motivated to get my bike worked on and get Scotty a seat so we can go on bike rides this summer!
Happy Birthday to the best sister in the wide world! I love you Bananas!

Green City Fair

Scott and I just came home from a fun (free) event: The Green City Fair which was held at Tree People! There were tons of vendors and we learned a lot. There were also sustainable inspired crafts (Scott was still a little young for everything except the table covered in paper with crayons - you were supposed to draw flowers and plants (going with the green theme) we just drew). There were lots of cool speakers and classes but we didn't attend. Scott really liked the stage that had music and speakers, I think he thought if he watched long enough maybe, just maybe, the Sesame Street cast would make an appearance...sorry buddy.

The real reason we went was because I knew Sno Con Amor was going to be there. Confession: I only knew about the fair because I'm a facebook fan of Sno Con Amor and they advertised for it. Obsessed much? But they are so yummy. I may or may not have had two....I shared with Scott so that should count for something.

Tree people is a very cool place. Its located in Coldwater Canyon Park and they have huge grounds (I don't actually know how big) and green houses and education centers and classrooms and all kinds of fun stuff. They have many volunteer opportunities and I definitely think it would be something fun for all of the Campbells to get involved with someday.

There was a great big tunnel that led to the kids area, I think it was a section of a sewer pipe (clean though). We had a lot of fun in here listening to how our voices sound when you shout!

Beautiful grounds...I should have taken more pictures. I really loved this water feature.

On the bus ride back to our car, sharing our (ahem) second snow cone of the day (if your curious our first was walnut and this one was beetlejuice - beet juice and lemonade, how can you not have 2 with so many awesome choices) Scott really liked the bus ride both ways!

Check out tree people here: www.treepeople.org
And follow Sno Con Amor on facebook. You will not be disappointed.

kids club

This week was our first trip to kids club...our first of many. Its a completely free activity with music and obstacles courses and bubbles. The boys had a great time singing and dancing, trying to get in the duck pond and of course eating their snacks. We ran into many friends (and patients too) who go regularly and it was fun to see our friends! We will definitely be frequenting kids club this summer!

Dance Party!!!

If you are expecting to see pictures of us dancing...you will be disappointed...I'm not talented enough to take pictures and dance like a crazy person around the living room. But what you will see is everything leading up to the dance party. The boys had dinner and a bath together tonight before Parker J. went home to sleep. We had some CA-RAAAY-ZEE times after the bath....below you will see Scott and Parker racing to the bear....Scott really loves saying "go" right now and especially loves "on your mark, get set, GO!" so we race alot...

"who's the Munch?" "me, me, me, I'm the Munch!"

Climbing all over the place

Reading stories: not paying attention to the 3 little pigs

Individual reading time:

"Hey cousin, we are so funny!" "I know cousin, we're the best!" "Headbutts?" "Ok!!!"
Note to self: clean mirrors!!
After this naked and half naked running around time the boys got their jams on and we made our way to the living room. One thing led to another and before we knew it it was a full fledged dance party in the living room. Scott's new "dance move" is twirling...not like fancy ballroom dance twirl-your-partner twirling...really just spinning himself in circles as fast as possible. Its awesome. So there was a lot of twirling, a lot of stomping (we have wood floors in that room with a crawl space underneath which makes for the absolute best stomping floors possible) and a lot of "dancy dance" moves - everything from Disney songs to Garth Brooks to Akon - party party!
