President's Ball....

I feel like all I do is shout out to Farmer's for all the cool stuff we get to do, but once again, thanks to Brian's new job, we got to have an AMAZING night out! Farmer's is one of the sponsors of all things Tournament of Roses related and a big part of Brian's new job is helping things go off without a hitch (and a great job he has been doing at it!!!). As a treat for us we got to attend the President's Ball! I learned a lot about the history of the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game and I can't wait to attend both someday (there was no way I was taking a 10 month old BY MYSELF to them this year, Brian is working, call me a baby but it just didn't sound like my cup of tea!). Paula Dean was this year's Grand Marshall and the dinner was in her honor! Boy was I ever excited to see her! I don't eat an ounce of her food (cream, sugar, butter and deep fried don't fit into my gluten free allergy eater diet) but I just love her and think she is the cutest thing! I watch her on food network all the time! And, you read it read, the night was sponsored by Tiffany & Co. - hello?!?!!! The food was amazing, the decor was amazing, the music was amazing, and the speakers were amazing (the Tournament President, Paula Dean, and the Chancellors from TCU and Wisconsin (she was really great!)), I was honored to get to attend with Brian!

Black tie affair...
Gorgeous table settings - and hello little blue box, I think you could be the best party favor I've ever seen (crystal dishes in case you were curious!)

Side view of the stage (wish I had gotten a better shot) I really loved the metallic palm trees!

This event also marked my first night away from Scott, FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT!!! Yikes! It was nerve wracking but turned out wonderfully. My parents had planned to go back home after the holidays on the 30th but we were able to convince them to stay one more night so I could go with Brian. They said he was a perfect angel...no really, they said it. He went to bed at 9:30 without a problem and woke up at 5:30 and rocked for an hour with my mom in the glider. No tears!!! I was so relieved and proud! It was great to know that Scott was taken care of and I could enjoy myself. Brian and I enjoyed our time together very much and now that we've left him over night once in the future I'm hoping it will be easier and I won't have anxiety about it for the weeks leading up to it (or maybe I still will, who knows!). We are so grateful to Grammie and Grandpy for staying the extra night!
